Presentation Ceremony for 2017 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC)

The Presentation Ceremony for 2017 HKAEE and HKGOC was successfully held on 4 May 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. At the Ceremony, a total of 201 winning organisations from different sectors were honoured with the 2017 HKAEE and Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards (HKGIA). 460 Organisations being certified as Hong Kong Green Organisations (HKGOs) in 2017 were also presented with certificates.

The Ceremony was graced by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Honourable Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS, Secretary for the Environment, the Honourable Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, the Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), Mr Lam Chiu-ying, SBS, the Chairman of Environment and Conservation Fund Committee, Mr Douglas Woo, JP, the Vice-chairman of the ECC, Mr Hui Yung-chung, BBS, JP, the Chairman of Awards Committee on the HKAEE, Mr Ho On-sing, Thomas, JP, the Convenor of the Education Working Group under the ECC, Ms Sylvia Chan, and the Permanent Secretary for the Environment/Director of Environmental Protection, Mr Donald Tong, JP. At the Ceremony, the list of winning organisations was announced. Under the 2017 HKAEE, 1 614 applications from 15 sectors were received. A total of 48 Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards and 146 Certificates of Merit were presented to the winning organisations at the ceremony. Meanwhile, among the 60 entries competing for 2017 HKGIA, one Gold Award, one Silver Award, one Bronze Award and four Certificates of Merit were granted. Highlights of the green achievements of the Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards winning organisations were also shown on the LCD display kiosks at the ceremony venue. To celebrate the HKAEE's 10th anniversary, “10th Anniversary Special Awards” were also presented to 24 companies and organisations to recognise their continuous support to the HKAEE. A video was also shown to feature the commitment and green achievements of a number of these companies and organisations (10th Anniversary Special Video).
