Presentation Ceremony of 2019 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC)

The Presentation Ceremony of 2019 HKAEE and HKGOC was held on 3 July 2020 in the format of online live streaming for its first time. A total of 214 winning organisations of 2019 HKAEE and Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards (HKGIA), together with 566 organisations being certified as Hong Kong Green Organisations (HKGOs) in 2019 were honoured at the ceremony.

The Ceremony was graced by Secretary for the Environment, the Honourable Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, the Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee, Prof Joseph SUNG, SBS, JP, and the Chairman of Awards Committee on the HKAEE, Ir Conrad Wong, BBS, JP. Near 500 audience joined the live streaming across different channels on that day, including the dedicated event website, ECC Facebook Fanpage and HKAEE YouTube Channel.

Under the 2019 HKAEE, 2 524 applications from 15 sectors were received. A total of 48 Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards and 160 Certificates of Merit were honoured at the ceremony. Meanwhile, among the 84 entries competing for 2019 HKGIA, one Gold Award, one Silver Award, one Bronze Award and three Certificates of Merit were granted. The ceremony video and environmental highlights of the Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards winning organisations were also uploaded to the event website. To commend employees for their dedication in enhancing the environmental performance of their respective companies and the community, seven awardees were selected under the Outstanding Green Achiever Commendation Scheme. Besides, to encourage event oragnisers to adopt environmental practices and reduce waste when organising outdoor events, 19 events were honoured as Green Outdoor Events. (Photo album)
