Presentation Ceremony for 2016 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC)

The Presentation Ceremony for 2016 HKAEE and HKGOC was successfully held on 4 May 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. At the Ceremony, a total of 180 winning organisations from different sectors were honoured with the 2016 HKAEE and Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards (HKGIA). 147 Organisations being certified as Hong Kong Green Organisations (HKGOs) in 2016 were also presented with certificates.

The Ceremony was graced by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Honourable C Y Leung, Acting Secretary for the Environment, Ms Christine Loh, the Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), Mr Lam Chiu-ying, the Chairman of Environment and Conservation Fund Committee, Mr Douglas Woo, the Vice-chairman of the ECC, Mr Hui Yung-chung, the Chairman of Awards Committee on the HKAEE, Mr Ho On-sing, Thomas and the Permanent Secretary for the Environment/Director of Environmental Protection, Mr Donald Tong. At the Ceremony, the list of winning organisations was announced. Under the 2016 HKAEE, 1 445 applications from 15 sectors were received. A total of 48 Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards and 126 Certificates of Merit were presented to the winning organisations at the ceremony. Meanwhile, among the 60 organisations competing for 2016 HKGIA, one Silver Award, two Bronze Awards and three Certificates of Merit were granted. Highlights of the green achievements of the Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards winning organisations were also shown on the LCD display kiosks at the ceremony venue. A video was shown to introduce the Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification and feature the green achievements of the selected HKGOs.
