Presentation Ceremony of 2020 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC)

The Presentation Ceremony of 2020 HKAEE and HKGOC was held on 28 October 2021 in a hybrid mode, on-site at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and online, to commend winners for their green management practices and their contributions to environmental protection. Winners of the 2020 Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards (HKGIA) and corporations certified as Hong Kong Green Organisations (HKGOs) in 2020 were also commended at the presentation ceremony.

The Ceremony was graced by Secretary for the Environment, the Honourable Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, the Chairman of the Environment and Conservation Fund Committee, Mr Douglas Woo, BBS, JP, the Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee, Mr Simon Wong, BBS, JP, and the Chairman of Awards Committee on the HKAEE, Ir Dr Conrad Wong, BBS, JP. Over 700 views were recorded by the live streaming across different channels on that day, including the dedicated event website, ECC Facebook Fanpage and HKAEE YouTube Channel.

Under the 2020 HKAEE, 2 785 applications from 15 sectors were received. A total of 47 organisations won gold, silver or bronze awards this year, and 159 received certificates of merit. Meanwhile, among the 86 entries competing for 2020 HKGIA, three organisations won Gold, Silver and Bronze Award respectively while two organisations received certificates of merit. To commend employees for their dedication in enhancing the environmental performance of their respective companies and the community, five awardees were selected under the Outstanding Green Achiever Commendation Scheme.
